Dry Tube Serum PT
ZINQAP has begun the pilot study of implementing a Dry Tube Serum for use as a Proficiency Testing Material. This new innovation involves sending of dried serum to participating laboratories which is reconstituted upon arrival by buffer sent together with the shipment. This new method has got several advantages: the serum does not need to be transported in cold chain and the serum is not affected by high temperatures. This new method will allow more participants in the rural areas to access Proficiency Testing services. Furthermore, it would allow ZINQAP to produce Internal Quality Control material to be used by participant laboratories.
ZINQAP Annual Scientific Conference 2010
The ZASCO Conference dates have been set to be on the 19th and 20th of May 2010. The theme for this years’ conference is “Quality for all Seasons”. This is a quite an exciting event not to be missed. Certificates of Participation 2010
The certificates of participation in the ZINQAP PT Services are expected to be out this month of April. As a policy, only those participants who had greater than 50 percent return rate in their last years PT shipment are eligible to receive the certificates. ZINQAP would like to congratulate all the laboratories that are eligible for receiving the certificates of participation.
Provincial Laboratory Heads Meeting
A Provincial Laboratory Heads Meeting has been held at Mazowe Hotel. The meeting took place from the 16th to the 19th of March and was attended by Central Hospital, Provincial Laboratory Heads, and stakeholder organizations like ZINQAP, National TB reference Laboratory.
